At a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New default:<\/strong> Trackboxx will now record page views even when Do Not Track (DNT) is enabled in the browser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>More data, the same privacy safeguards:<\/strong> IP addresses are anonymised immediately, no cookies requiring consent are set, and no data is sold to third parties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. What exactly is changing?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Previously:<\/strong> No tracking when DNT was enabled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>From now on:<\/strong> DNT signals will no longer prevent tracking: all visits and interactions will be recorded. This can increase the number of <strong>recorded sessions by up to 15%<\/strong> and give you more accurate KPIs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. What is Do Not Track?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Background:<\/strong> DNT was intended to protect users from cross-site tracking and the sale of their data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How it works:<\/strong> The browser sends a header (<em>DNT: 1<\/em>). Websites <strong>can respond to it<\/strong>, but are not required to do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legal position:<\/strong> The GDPR and Germany\u2019s TTDSG do not require websites to honour the signal. Anonymisation and not sharing data are the key factors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Why we will no longer honour DNT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No third-party tracking<\/strong> \u2013 Trackboxx uses data solely for your analytics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Robust anonymisation<\/strong> \u2013 IP addresses are truncated before storage, and no cookies are used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>More complete statistics<\/strong> \u2013 more sessions provide a stronger basis for conversion rates and A\/B tests.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Privacy remains central to our design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Privacy by default<\/strong> \u2013 minimal data collection, no profiling and no sharing of data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Servers located in Germany<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No consent required<\/strong> \u2013 designed for GDPR, TTDSG and ePrivacy compliance without a cookie banner in the default setup.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. What\u2019s next: custom scripts for specific privacy requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re working on an option that will let you <strong>automatically generate a custom tracking script<\/strong> when adding a new website, if you want to honour DNT signals again.
