Web analytics refers to the systematic evaluation of data about the behaviour of users on a website. The aim is to recognise weaknesses, improve content and make the website more successful overall.
Typical key figures are page views, bounce rates, dwell time or conversion rates. Tools such as Trackboxx, Google Analytics, Matomo or Plausible are used for the analysis - see also Tracking.
Important: The rules of data protection also apply to web analytics, in particular with regard to Cookies and the consent requirement.
