Depending on which theme you use on WordPress, there are different options to implement the tracking script on WordPress. In the following article we will give you some general info, as well as the possibility to download the Trackboxx plugin for WordPress.

Important! Of course, the first step is to add your website to your Trackboxx dashboard.

    Installation with the WordPress plugin

The easiest and fastest way to integrate Trackboxx into your website is to use our WordPress plugin.

After installation and activation you will find a new item "Trackboxx" on the left side of your admin menu.

In the first step you have to connect your website. To do this, click on "Settings".

Here you enter your website tracking ID - you can find it in the Trackboxx Dashboard under Settings (gear) > Websites. Behind the created websites you will find the button "Tracking Code".

When you click on it, the tracking code opens, which contains an ID at the end. This has the following format:

Now enter this into the first field in the Trackboxx WordPress plugin.

If you want to display the statistics in your WordPress dashboard, you can also enter the link to your public URL.

How to create them you can find here: Create Public URL.

Manual integration of the tracking script with WordPress

Generally, there are several ways to include the script with WordPress. Here are some options:

    1. installation via Header.php

Manual installation in the header file of your theme. Important! For this you need a child theme, so that the file is not overwritten with the next theme update again.

    2. installation via theme functions

Many themes offer their own options for integrating code into the header. Well-known examples are e.g. the Avada theme, the Divi or the Enfold theme.

    3. implementation on Astra theme

The Astra theme is now one of the most popular WordPress themes, we would like to list this separately here. With the Astra you can install the extension "Astra Hooks" and then install the code directly as a hook in the header.

    4. implementation via plug-ins

Of course, it is also possible to integrate the tracking script via appropriate WordPress plugins.

Just google "WordPress Tracking Script Plugin". Here you will find a variety of options.
