In ecommerce, small details often determine whether a visitor completes a purchase or leaves the store. Our latest Trackboxx update focuses on exactly that: the cart abandonment analysis page has been completely redesigned and now provides much deeper insight into the checkout process.
The new version does more than show how many carts are abandoned; above all, it reveals why shoppers leave and where they drop out of the purchase journey.
The checkout funnel at a glance
A central element of the new page is the checkout funnel analysis. It visualises every step of the customer journey:
Product view → Cart → Checkout → Order
You can immediately see where visitors are most likely to drop out. Store owners can then investigate whether the cart, checkout flow or a technical issue is causing the problem.
Analysis by traffic source
The new version also shows which channels abandoned carts come from.
Trackboxx breaks this down into:
- Abandoned carts from search traffic
- Direct traffic
- Social media visitors
- Referral traffic
- AI traffic
It also calculates lost revenue by source. This quickly reveals which channels account for the greatest potential loss in revenue.
Device and browser analysis
Another important component of the new analysis is the Analysis by devices and browsers.
If cart abandonment is unusually high for a particular browser or device, this may indicate Technical problems in the checkout . This gives store owners useful clues for targeted improvements.
Geographical insights
Geographical data was also integrated. The new analysis shows, the countries where carts are abandoned most frequently and how much revenue is lost as a result.
This information can help with the evaluation of international campaigns or shipping options, for example.
Heatmap: When carts are abandoned
Another new feature is a Heatmap by time and day of the week. It shows when carts are most often abandoned.
This helps reveal patterns such as:
- peak periods with a high number of abandoned carts
- unusual spikes in abandonment
- Differences between weekdays
More transparency throughout the checkout process
Trackboxx has one clear goal with the new cart abandonment analysis: to create more transparency throughout the purchase process.
Store owners gain a much clearer view of the checkout funnel and can pinpoint opportunities for improvement—whether in the design, the technology or the ordering process.
The new analysis is now available in the dashboard under:
E-commerce → Cart abandonment
